Be on time.

Ensure your technology works correctly.

Mute yourself when not speaking.

Makes sure to pay attention to what is behind you—what the teachers and classmates will see on the screen

Keep your door open, and invite your parents to drop in to see how things are going.

Make sure all family members know when you are on a video conference so there won’t be any surprise guest appearances.

Wear school-appropriate clothing. “Nobody should be showing up in their PJs on a video conference.”

Frame the camera correctly.

Have the right light. Don’t have a bright light behind you, or have the space too dark.

Look into the camera. Sit up straight but don’t have your face right in the camera.

Pay attention. Use the thumbs up or hand icons appropriately.

Wait for your turn to talk, or a break in the conversation.

Speak clearly, and use school appropriate language

Home Alone Zoom Meeting May4th
This meeting is to learn about the Home Alone program.
How to join a Zoom meeting on desktop/Laptop/Tablet via meeting invite link
I have emailed the weblink to your parents. They can open their email on your computer/laptop/device and "bookmark" the site as a favourite so that you can use it each week.
On Wednesday at about 10:25 open your browser, go to the bookmark and follow the directions below.

Click on the meeting invite URL (link) that Mr. Lawrence shared via email with your parents/family.

Open the Zoom app.

Approve the request for permission to use your computer's audio and camera.
Depending on the meeting's set-up, you may enter the meeting right away, you may need to wait for the host to arrive first or you may be placed into a waiting room that the host controls.
Once you're in the meeting, learn how to see everyone on Zoom in the grid format.

We are going to be doing Zoom meetings to "get together" with our class. I have chosen 10:30-11:30 on Wednesdays.
You have probably seen a lot of television with the boxes. You will see your classmates and can talk with them and with me. I will also invite Ms. Willms & Ms. Hynde.
We are using ZoomBC which is only for teachers, EA's, Admin, parents and students. If your parents use your laptop/tablet/computer and bookmark the link that I sent them, you will have access to our regular meetings. I am scheduling for Wednesdays from 10:30-11:30. You can visit and I can check in on how you are doing with school work.
First Zoom Meeting April 29th
Great Zoom meeting thanks to Gabby, Carson, Lonnie, Aurelia, Josh, Kaiya, Kieron, William, Eva, & Kanesha for attending. I loved your pets, and seeing Williams little brother. Same time next week, hopefully with even more students. Next week we will also invite Ms. Willms and maybe Mr. turner or Mrs. Glover. See you next Wednesday at 10:30.
